The Divine Physics Tarot

I have this cool idea about connecting Tarot to the cosmos.

The Sun, Moon, Star cards are in the deck for a reason; we humans are fascinated with the heavens. I’m fascinated both with the mythological symbolism and the physics displayed above our little planet, so I thought I’d build a deck and book around my philosophy of the universe.

I went looking for pictures I could use that were already available and found that good old NASA had plenty of resources. Some really amazing resources.

I have my own story about the universe and how Tarot works within it, and my own vision of how to use these cosmic images. My idea was to stay as true to the original images as possible, although I did add bits of imagery in collage fashion to a handful of the Minor Arcana to make the connection to the Tarot image of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck clearer.

The Book

I’ve been drawn to space pictures . . .

The Divine Physics cards arrived last week and they are so beautiful. I love how their simplicity emphasizes the cosmos and it’s beautiful colors and shapes. The cards are powerful tools for drawing out and focusing intuition. Again, thank you so much for creating them.

Star-struck!

What an incredible deck! I’ve been waiting for some time to have it in my hands, but it was well worth the wait.

The images on the cards are stunning, and I can appreciate the time Joanne’s taken to choose each one – they reflect the ‘traditional’ cards very well. Having the book as reference helps tremendously, of course – I wouldn’t have been able to identify many of the images without it. And that doesn’t matter…the book explains the connections clearly so prior knowledge isn’t at all necessary.

I’m very impressed with the book (I have the PDF version). With hindsight, I wish now I’d bought the paper copy, even though I know, in this day and age, we should be avoiding paper. I’d just like to have it to hand, rather than having to go to the laptop for reference! The book is laid out beautifully, and is very readable. I love the way Joanne has made reference to similarities to other decks, and draws on a variety of source material throughout.

It’s a stunning piece of work – and art – and I strongly recommend it!
